Hi,
I am trying to set up properly configuration of FreeNAS since about few weeks and still do not have any progress.
My hardware configuration:
Dell PowerEdge R720, 8x8GB 1333MHz DDR3 ECC RAM
OS Storage: USB Sandisk 32 GB
Controller: LSI SAS 9207-8i with IT Mode (i was also try with PERC 710 Mini in IT Mode)
Drives: 6x SEAGATE ST4000NM0023 7.2K
Networking: 1 x Broadcom 4x1GB and 1 x HP 2x10 GBe
I wanted to create datastore for VMware conected via iSCSI.
So the problem with i have is performance, i see in FreeNAS report that each disk I/O is max 30 MB/s (i was tried different pools stripe, mirror etc.)
Same hardware with original PERC firmware on Windows Server could get about 500 MB/s in RAID 10( i tested it).
I do not know what else i can check. Why drives on different OS had so bad performance.
I will be very grateful if You can help me with some advice.
Thanks.
