FreeNAS on HP SmartMedia LX197

Hi All, I'm thinking to install FreeNAS on my HP SmartMedia LX197. It would be mainly used for media streaming to several devices such as PCs, Apple TV and Android TV dongle. Is this possible to install FreeNAS? If yes, could you please point to a how-to-guide?

Maybe. A quick online search shows it to have an Atom processor and perhaps 1Gb of RAM. How much RAM do you have? If you try installing it, use the 32-bit version and use UFS. A link to the documentation is on the same page as the software download.

You might be better off trying NAS4Free. I've never used it, but if you're short on RAM, it might be a better alternative to FreeNAS.

I have 1GB of RAM.

The manual says 2GB minimum for UFS and 8GB for ZFS.
