If you have access to the iDRAC then I would suggest logging into that and playing around with some of the fan offset settings. I do not remember where or what this is called but it allows you to pre-set the fans a to a higher speed then what is currently being asked for.
Another thing to check out is the performance profile. MAX performance is probably not needed for this system and a more conservative power plan would help reduce the high temps.
This should at least prevent it from getting too hot until you can figure out a permanent solution for ramping the fans during load.
