Hi,

I am new to freenas, we are having IBM X3100 m5 5457-IYA server, i have downloaded the ISO FreeNAS 9.2 Stable, burnt it on CD & install freenas on 16GB USB drive, but after installation USB drive is not getting detected as boot device, if i put same USB drive to another PC it works, even if i use FreeNAS iso using win32diskimage and write it on that same USB drive, it comes up in boot devices, but after FreeNAS installed on it, it goes off.

I have tried following things.
1. Using 2 USB drives, 1 as a installer, 2nd as freenas disk, still after installation it goes off from the boot devices.

I have following doubts :
1. After installing FreeNAS converts usb drive to ZFS filesystem, but is IBM UEFI bios capable for detecting ZFS drives ?

Please suggest the solution on this issue.

Thanks

Filesystem doesn't matter to the BIOS. Does the system that doesn't boot support USB2 ports and is the stick plugged into a USB2 port?

Also check your BIOS for this: If the system BIOS does not support EFI with BIOS emulation, see if it has an option to boot using legacy BIOS mode.
