Hi All,
I've heard a lot about FreeNAS from friends and such, and am about to take the plunge.
QUESTION: Because FreeNAS runs on a "computer", what strategies are used to keep the RAID data safe through a major system outage... IE motherboard failure.
There is never a guarantee that a similar motherboard can be sourced to replaced the failed one, does FreeNAS respond well to motherboard replacements of dissimilar hardware?
My target freeNAS system might be an i5 on an Intel Desktop class motherboard with intel SRCSASBB8I raid controller and as many PRO/1000 GT nic cards as the system will hold.
thanks in advance
