freenas crasha se lo stresso troppo

beh non so se è questo il motivo. cmq se faccio troppe operazioni contemporanee su uno o più dischi, la macchina crasha e non riesco più ad entrarvi ne come webgui ne come accesso alle condivisioni. unica alternativa è spegnere brutalmente, e questa cosa non mi piace. pensavo fosse un problema di calore interno al case, ma ora ho aperto il frontale togliendo alcuni schermi da 5.25 (quelli sotto il cdrom); poi davanti alla macchina ho messo un ventilatore che spara aria dalle 8.00 di mattina fino alle 10.00 della sera. la notte grazie alle temperature rigide che ho in sdala hobby (la casetta del mio freenas), la ventola è spenta. di fatto accade questo, se inizio a movimentare grosse quantità di dati, chessò 100gb per volta, freenas si imbambola e sono costretto a fare quanto sopra descritto. vorrei capire perchè. dove trovo un file di log che riporti queste cose?

Questa è la mia configurazione:

  • MB IBM modello e chipset sconosciuti (era un pc che avevo dismesso da tempo, abbiate pietà);
  • CPU: pentium 4 2.66
  • RAM: 2024 mb
  • dischi: 1TBsata + 1TBsata + 500GBide + 320GBide + 60GBide (S.O.)

altro non saprei...........

è sicuro qualcosa hardware che non va !
il pc l'avevi dismesso funzionante o dava problemi già allora ?

io opterei per la ram, ma non perché poca ma casomai difettosa !

un log ci dovrebbe essere ma dovresti cercare nel forum inglese, non ricordo dove e come lo salva !!!

il pc era perfettamente funzionante nel momento della dismissione. l'ho sostituito per feci un pc nuovo (quello si che è morto ora :) ). alla ram ci avevo pensatoanche perchè non è di tipo ECC.

ora cerco nella sezione in inglese se e come si può creare un log. il primo che trova qualcosa lo posta qui dentro, ok?

è l'unico che si avvicina all'ora dell'ultimo crash, ma non sono sicuro che sia quello giusto.

Mi sono ricordato leggendo nel forum in lingua inglese dove viene memorizzato il file di log ... In RAM !!
Purtroppo freenas lavora sempre in ram dopo l'avvio e quindi al reboot i log vengono riscritti da zero ;)

Leggi quà, cinsigliano di utilizzare il comando tail ma non conosco bene la sintassi, vedi se ci tiri fuori qualcosa

hello guys, I have the same problem. if I transfer many data-files over the network, after a few minutes freenas crashes. I have to turn off the system brutally! someone managed to record the log in a file? please answer me. Thank you.

La pasta-termoconduttiva invecchia e non trasferisce + come da nuova il calore alle alette di raffreddamento, ti consiglio di sostituirla

leggendo quà e là, ho preso spunti per altre ipotesi oltre a quella della ram:

  • scheda di rete non adeguata, ovvero nominalmente 10/100 ma in realtà con prestazioni più basse. questo potrebbe appesantire pesantemnte il chipset della schede di rete che surriscaldandosi perde il controllo e quindi il sistema crasha.
  • eccessivo carico del processore con conseguente spegnimento della macchina. proverò a sostituire la pasta come consigliato da M_a_X_Italy;

per la ram un amico mi ha consigliato di fare un memtest con una distrolinux live.
