Hi,
Just to report that the Intel DZ77GA-70K motherboard is perfectly recognized by FreeNas 9.1.
It has 8 SATA ports, 4 RAM slots and 2 Gigabit ethernet ports.
Bye

Hi,

Maybe this post should go to bug reporting.

I may have been a little bit too enthusiastic with this motherboard...
There are 8 SATA ports on the motherboard, but 6 are managed by an Intel chip and 2 by a Marvel chip.

We build two Freenas at work using this motherboard. I also use one at home.
We mixed the disks from the two different chips. For instance, on one of them we setup a ZFS4 with the 8 disks.
We are currently facing checksum errors only on the disks plugged into the Marvel chip. This on the three different Freenas.

You will find 2 snapshots.
The first one (with the few number of checksum errors) is a ZFS4 only used for highly secured storage.
The second one is used as a SAN (with i-SCSI attachments).

Maybe there is a communication problem between the Intel and Marvel chip.
Maybe there is a problem with the Marvel chip driver.
