FreeNAS 9.10 + QLOGIC QLE2562 + 8GBit SFP + Brocade 300 FC Switch

Hello everybody,

I have a problem regarding these components:
Storage with FreeNAS 9.10
QLOGIC FibreChannel HBA (QLE2562) with 2x 8GBit SFP+ Modules

These are connected on a Brocade 300 FibreChannel Switch.

The HBAs are actually working when attached directly to the initiator.
They are also working if attached to the switch with 4 GBit SFP Modules

When attached with 8GBit modules, then there are difficulties that the initiator cannot read the LUNs (all the requests timeout).

Could it be a driver issue or has somebody else made the same experience and found a solution? Or is there in General a problem between QLogic HBAs and Brocade 300 switches?

In my lab I have the same HBAs working fine with Brocade 200E switch. That switch is 4Gbps by definition, but I haven't had problems with it. I doubt it can be a driver issue, since functionality on that low level is completely handled by firmware, driver may only force speed and topology, while by default it allows firmware to auto-negotiate. I've also tested 8Gbps with Cisco switch, so this is not a principal problem of 8Gbps.
