FreeNAS 11.3-U3.1 boot environment isn't detected after patching from 11.3-U2.1

Hi,

I just tried updating FreeNAS 11.3-U2.1 to FreeNAS 11.3-U3.1. All seems to work well (no errors), but when rebooting, it keeps on booting into the old FreeNAS 11.3-U2.1.

The FreeNAS 11.3-U3.1 boot environment does exist

But I can't manually select it in the boot prompt, as it is missing from the list

I also tried updating once more, but the same issue occurs...

Anyone have an idea how to solve this? Or should I just do a fresh install?

Thanks!

Delete the 11.3-U3.1 boot environment, and try updating again.

Tried that too, it didn't help

But I've managed to resolve it...

Seems like either my motherboard or FreeNAS was confused by me having FreeNAS installed on both my SSD (the install I'm preparing to go live) and USB stick (memory error testing).
Even though I choose the SSD using F11 during boot, it still loaded the one on the USB stick somehow. After unplugging the USB stick, I was able to properly boot from SSD, where FreeNAS was still on the old FreeNAS 11.3-U2.1. I then could simply update like "normal".
