Flash LSI SAS9211-8i to IT mode

Hi,
I just received my new LSI 9211-8i HBA
it came with FW 18.00.00.00-IR out of the box

I'd like to Install it over a machine with the latest FreeNAS 9.10 version

Few questions before I start:
1. What is the recommended FW for this card? (a link will help)
2. Is it possible to cross flash the card from a linux machine? or i must have windows for it?
3. Please share a clear FW upgrade guide

Latest firmware is v20 but the latest driver is P21 which is supported by firmware v20.

A guide for UEFI and you can use a Linux machine to flash it or any other machine with a UEFI or Bios shell. I don't have an HBA but the guide looks to be pretty straight forward. I think even FreeNAS can do this in the WebGUI, but most people just boot to a USB drive with the proper firmware.

Another question,
I have 7 disks
2 for mirroring OS
5 for data

Is it safe to use the LSI9211 HW mirror? or better to use software mirror from within FreeNAS?
