Theoretically yes, but you need at least 16gb of ram, to run Freenas smoothly...
the Dell T5500 has 9 DIMM Slots, it supports ECC Registered Dimms, up to 8GB/Slot for a maximum of 72GB.
What you will find in our market is "USED" 1 or 2gb only, so the maximum you can get is 2gb*9=18gb of ram.
each will cost you around 150 Egp. x 7 pieces = 1050 Egp. (you have already 2*2gb installed on the machine)
you need also an Intel NIC but i got one used for less than 5$

RAM = 1050 L.E
Machine = 2400 L.E
---------------------
Total = 3450 L.E.

which i believe is too much for a used, outdated and impossible to upgrade machine in compare to a new recommended build :)
okay :)
about the RAM i called the guy who was selling that DELL and asked him if we can uograde the RAM to 16 G he told me that it will be available 8gb and i think the price would be 3150 Egp but i can try to bargain my way :)
but of course i'm not sure if "he knows what he is talking about" so i have to visit the used PCs mall first and make a surveillance - atleaset to get the intel NIC
and i have to see what are the AMD processors available and their motherboards
i was thinking

AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz Six Core 14MB Processor AM3+
900 Egp
ASUS M5A78L-M LX V2 Socket AM3
is this one support ECC???? and i will check the used RAM ECC if they have 8 gb ones
and of course the power supply and case

Yes, that motherboard supports ECC RAM.

2 x DIMM, Max. 16GB, DDR3 1866(O.C.)/1600(O.C.)/1333/1066 MHz ECC, Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory

ASUS M5A78L-M LX V2 Socket AM3

i saw that on the website but wasn't sure f that mean it supported them or it will just work wit them
Thanks :)
but the 16 gb limit would be a problem in the future

Sellers on the used market usually don't know what ECC is :)
They are junk traders not PC experts..

You will find hard times getting the FX series CPUs and MOBOs in Egypt

the above components supports ECC unbuffered, so you will have to order the Crucial RAM anyways from Edfa3ly.
so my advice, order the supermicro board and stick to the hardware recommendations.

Intel's ARK site shows both as supporting ECC. Just make sure that you get the right board. The i3-3240 will only work with the X9 boards, and the i3-4150 will only work with the X10 boards, due to socket pinout (and chipset) differences. Otherwise, either one should be a fine choice.

Though, the i3-4150 is a Haswell-R CPU, so the board you get would need to have a sufficiently new ROM image flashed into it before it would boot. If the ROM is too old, it won't recognize the CPU. Check around to see what ROM revision for the board you mean to buy supports the Haswell-R CPUs, and inquire with the board seller to see what ROM version it will ship with, otherwise you'll have a board and CPU that won't play well together.

The 4150 is LGA1150 and the 3240 is LGA 1155, so they're incompatible. Both support ECC, though.

I agree with the above comments,
you wanted a low budget build so you should start with any of the following combinations (the second one - LGA 1150 will be much cheaper for you-Processors available locally)
Socket 1155
or

Socket 1150

or

guys, please correct me if I'm wrong
will this processors work well for plex ??

Congrats, my friend :)

I'm a big fan of Thermaltake, I had the Level 10 GT as my PC case now for more than 5 years and its performing like a beast.
but i guess you have better choices out there, for a FreeNas build,

Your FreeNas Case should be
1- Well ventilated
2- Silent as it will be spinning 247
3- Can hold at least 6 internal 3.5" HDDs or more (for future upgrades)
4- Matching the size of your Mother board (without a doubt :) ) I dunno which mobo you got
5- Relatively compact

Imade a quick search and found a cheaper/better alternative for the V3 and Z3
http://www.egprices.com/en/product/nzxt-source-210-mid-tower-case-black-maximum-hardware
http://www.nzxt.com/product/detail/105-source-210-case.html

in this case you can install:
1- 8 Internal HDDs
2- it has also 3 more External 5.25" drive bays, where you can install 3 or more 3.5" HDDs
3- One 2.5" HDD or SSD under the 3.5" drive cage
4- it comes with one 120mm rear fan but you can install up to 5 more 120mm fans (my advice install 2 more at the front and one at the top)
http://www.egprices.com/en/product/cooler-master-120mm-sickleflow-x-fan-blue--compu-trade

your choice of power supply looks nice (but don't go cheap on this one) so i'm more for the Seasonic as its 80 plus certified
GOOD LUCK

Continuously... we don't have ECC components in Egypt,
I will try to get these component but I’m not sure if there is any incompatibilities
Motherboard : supermicro X11SSM-F
http://www.superbiiz.com/detail.php?name=MB-X11SMF
CPU: Intel Core i3-6100
http://ark.intel.com/products/90729/Intel-Core-i3-6100-Processor-3M-Cache-3_70-GHz
RAM: 2x KVR21R15S4/8
http://www.kingston.com/dataSheets/KVR21R15S4_8.pdf
Harddrives: 6x 5TB WD Red (raidz2)
http://www.wdc.com/wdproducts/library/SpecSheet/ENG/2879-800002.pdf
with a 80 plus power supply:
Thermaltake SMART DPS G 650W 80 Plus Gold PSU
OR
Thermaltake Toughpower 750W 80 Plus Gold Modular PSU (TPD-0750M)
OR
CORSAIR CX750M 750w 80 PLUS Bronze Modular PSU

Is there any incompatibilities with each other? or a performance impact? .... any recommendation ?
