Files going missing (Photoshop but maybe more?)

Had some trouble with files going missing and it's a weird one...

So I was working in Photoshop. Made 6 files in total. Saved them in the same folder. One after each other.
Closed all the files in PS and went into the folder. Only four files in there now.
Thought I must have saved the first two somewhere else but as I have snapshots turned on I checked in the lastest one. There it is, all six files...

I've had this happened to me before with Photoshop-files and cant really say I've noticed it with other files. But I'm not sure.

Anyone had anything close to this problem?

Not really.
It happens very sporadic so it's hard to narrow down whats causing it. Seems to be when saving Photoshop files, might be when I save (over) a previously saved file.

Haven't happened again since I wrote this post.
