Is there a way to take a drive out of my FreeNAS box, and mount it in a linux environment (assuming I know the passphrase)? If so, how would I go about it?
I don't think that FreeNAS 8 in its current incarnation supports encrypted drives. If the drive is part of a ZFS pool then it would not be possible without moving all drives belonging to the pool. Linux does not natively support ZFS so it might not be a simple task if you do not know what you are doing.
