Enabling lz4 compression on existing dataset. Can I compress existing data?

I'm running FreeNAS-9.10.1-U1 and have enabled lz4 compression on the exisiting datasets that are already populated with data. From what I've read I'm under the impression that the lz4 compression will now only apply to new data added to the datasets. Is this correct? If so, is there a command I can run to run lz4 over the existing data, or is the only option to copy the data off and then back onto the volume?

Pretty much.

Note that you just have to move the data across datasets.
