Duplicate Rsync Job Prevention?

In those cases where an rsync job takes a little longer, will FreeNAS check before starting a second instance of the job?

Yes, the rsync runs protected by lockf (http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/man.cgi?query=lockf) on the directory being synced -- check your /etc/crontab to see how is it set up.
