2. I have installed modules, firefly and sabnzb. should I stop the service to make my drives sleep ? Should I install jail, firefly, sabnzb on another hard drive ?

3. what is this strange smartctl error ?
Code:
Sep 27 14:22:45 freenas smartd[1850]: Device: /dev/ada1, 586 Currently unreadable (pending) sectors

why does it stop the entire SMART short auto-test ?

3bis. I did put the sleep mode according to the AAM from ataidle, is it correct, for example
Code:
Vendor Recommended AAM: 127

4. Finally, sometimes, my left column does not show up in webgui, why ?

I hope you have a backup of any data you care about on that drive. If not, start backing up the data right away. The drive probably needs to be replaced. After you've backed up your data, you can run a smartctl long test from the console/shell to see what's going on. If that's OK, which I doubt, then you can do a scrub. But start getting your head around a drive replacement.

I like the answer provided here about what the error is.

The jail by itself will keep the disk from idling. Search the forums and you will find this has been discussed.

As Stephens said the drive needs to be replaced. FYI, a SMART test will stop on the first error.
