Double the space

I am not sure if this is normal but i run several freenas units that are configured with mirrored volumes and i run freenas replication to other units that are configured with Z2 volumes. the problem have is that the space from the mirrored units doubles on the Z2 units, when i replicate the data from a mirrored unit to another mirrored unit
the space is the same.

has anyone ran into this? is this normal?

Which version of FreeNAS?

What command are you using to check the space? Screenshots of what you are seeing might help.

I have been looking at the GUI as well as zpool list, i have deleted the previous replications that were showing consistently at x2 and started replicating a couple of my smaller volumes to a larger 72Tb unit i have and these do not seem to be at 2x yet but after initial replication finished they are at about 1.5x, i am not sure at what point the others made it up to 2x
