We're having slight difficulty setting up a diskless system here.
The root filesystem is being mounted on an NFS share located on our FreeNAS 8.3.1 server. The filesystem mounts fine after PXE boot but the init process cannot write to the root filesystem, it errors with a "Permission Denied" on all actions.
The NAS is set up:
/mnt/storage/vms/pxeboot/machines/beta/root -maproot=root:wheel
Supposedly, the maproot option is the same as root_no_squash. I also tried mapall to root:wheel neither seem to work.
The permissions are fine on the linux filesystem as well. I just can't figure out why it can't write. Any advice would be helpful.
Thanks :)
