Hello,
I'm trying to install FreeNAS 8 on a Zotac ZBOX with an AMD processor. The machine was successfully running Win7 before I attempted to turn it into a NAS. I have an SATA Seagate Momentus XT 750GB (with 8Gig SSD buit in) drive in the only drive bay. I'm booting from CDROM successfully, but when it tries to install, the installation process eventually starts looping; "/dev/da0 /dev/da0s1". It never gets past that. I also tried with a standard 250GB SATA drive and I get the same error. Any ideas why it's stuck there?
Thanks, Dan

Additional info:
Removed the USB drive I had on the machine (to install the OS to) and got an entirely different result: Now the installation HANGS after the keyboard identification. Also, I am installing from a USB CDROM. Right before the hang and keyboard identification, I get this:
Trying to mount root from ufs:/dev/md0
<date> init: initial setsid() failed: Operation not permitted
<date> init: login_getclass: unknown class 'daemon'
fstab: /etc/fstab:0 No such file or directory

Well, I fixed this. Seems that you can't install FreeNAS from a USB CDROM, at least not in my case. I installed the FreeNAS image on a thumb drive and it booted and installed immediately.
