Hi all.
I've tried reading around this subject and educating myself, but my knowledge has only gotten me so far.
I currently have a SCALE setup with a Filerun and Plex server.
I'm just wondering, is there any best practice out there around dataset settings? Ideally, I'd like to have access to my media/files over Samba, but I'm not sure if creating my datasets in this way would cause any problems for my apps? I currently have everything set to generic with POSIX permissions, but if I were to access that over samba, I'm not sure if there's any concerns of file corruption?
So basically, I need to know: how to choose between Generic and SMB when creating a new dataset, and how does each one affect how applications access files? (if at all)
Thanks!
