Convert remote replicated snapshot to live dataset?

Hi all:

Ok, I have a snapshot/replication task setup on server Alpha that copies stuff over to server Beta.

Everything is in sync and I would like to decommission Alpha.

Is it possible to take that replicated snapshot on server Beta and make it a live dataset to use instead of the decommissioned Alpha and its data?

I guess I'll answer my own question but would still like confirmation that what I did is OK.

• On Alpha, I disabled/deleted the automatic snapshots and associated replication tasks.
• On Beta, I destroyed the snapshots associated with Alpha's replication (probably not required but I didn't want to risk having auto-purge or anything like that mess up with the data).
• On Beta, the replicated datasets were readonly. I set them read-write with "zfs set readonly=off VolumeName/DatasetName"

Everything now appears to be happy, but I sure would like to hear confirmation that I won't lose 8TB of data in a few days due to something dumb I did.
