I searched this forum and didn't find any posts about this, so hopefully I'm not asking for what's already been answered someplace.
We are using Wasabi S3 compatible cloud storage and the Cloud Sync Task to replicate/backup data from a TrueNAS for off-site backups.
Multiple S3 compatible cloud storage have a minimum storage time before being charge an extra fee for early deletion, 30-days in this case.
I'm trying to figure out how to configure off-site backups so as to not be charged for the early deletion fee.
If I use Cloud Sync Task with the SYNC option, if a user deletes data, it deletes it from the cloud on the next daily sync run.
If I use the Cloud Sync Task with the COPY Option, it just overwrites changed data, with no purge of old data. (On another setup we used the retention time option in Wasabi to purge old data. That's a bad idea, it purges ALL data over a certain age leaving you with only recently created data in cloud storage.)
Does anybody have any ideas on how to tackle this issue?
