Let me start by saying I'm still learning about FreeNAS and I would be considered a newb at the very least.

I've had FreenNAS 9.2.1.9 setup and working for a month or so until recently, when I noticed I could no longer access any of my CIFS shares. For whatever reason the CIFS service was turned off and I cannot turn the CIFS service back on. I get the "service could not be started" error.

I've searched and came across various suggestions such as, the #4194 bug which didn't fix my issue. I've tried the below things to try to get CIFS to turn on again.

-reinstalled FreeNAS 9.2.1.9 and imported my saved Config = Couldn't start CIFS
-reinstalled FreeNAS 9.2.1.9 and only imported my volume no Config = Couldn't start CIFS
-reinstalled FreeNAS 9.2.1.9 didn't import anything = Could turn on CIFS
-reinstalled FreeNAS 9.2.1.9 imported my saved Config and manually started the SAMBA daemon by executing the below command.
/usr/local/sbin/smbd --interactive --debuglevel=3
I could browse my shares by IP by manually running the above command shell within in the GUI.

That is my issue in a nutshell. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance,

Jeremy
