Hi guys, I am new to freenas.

I have set up a master volume ZFS and set a dataset within.
I then created a CIFS share for this dataset however I cannot see it within windows.

Any ideas what I might have done wrong?

Restart cifs again and restart windows 7 box.

You can also use 'net use' to list shares on a network.

it's a windows CLI command. And what I was refering to was 'net view' but 'net use' has some good functionality also. This will let you list shares on the server. If they don't list then something is messed up on your server.

Example:
C:> net view
Server Name
---------------------
\\FREENAS

C:> net view \\FREENAS
Shared resource at \\FREENAS
FreeNAS Server
Share name Type Used as Comment
------------------------------------------------------

Movies Disk E:
Music Disk F:
