I have a SC836 chassis and have been searching for the best way to mount my SSD boot drive
and I stumbled upon this little jewel linked below.

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16816139174

Has anyone seen/used/installed one of these and can give feedback on it?

The DVD, USB/Serial ports and the floppy drive on these Supermicro chassis
are all modular, so I intend to get rid of the floppy drive that came with my chassis
(who the heck uses a floppy anymore), and I think this 2.5in. adapter just slides
right in the same space. Cool, No?

BTW, they also make one to replace the DVD that fits a 2.5in. drive.

So that's why some chassis still had floppy mounting positions until recently - to sell more accessories.

There is the old saying "It's not broke if it can be fixed with duct tape"
But you do lose access to the disk without opening the case.

That's funny you should say that Jailer cause that's exactly how the SSD is installed now :p

This 2.5in drive adapter (see the OP) has arrived and been installed.
It came with screws to attach the SSD to the drive tray and a SATA cable.
If your Supermicro chassis has a floppy drive, you can replace it with
this product and it comes highly recommended by me ;)
