Hopefully this will be a quick fix. So I have had my server powered down for the last 4 months while I was moving. Set all the computers back up on the same network with same congifurations for everything, but now FreeNAS seems to be unable to send me emails to my Hotmail anymore? Did something change on microsofts side during the last couple months? I'm still using the smtp-mail.outlook.com outgoing server with port 587 with TLS.. Then of course my email and password..

Thanks in advance

I don't think so. My outlook.com address is working normally with FreeNAS.

Hmm.. and I shouldn't have to have the port forwarded on my router correct?

Well, it's possible that the port could be blocked by your firewall, but not exactly typical.

Is the default gateway field properly populated?

Many ISPs will block standard ports on infrastructure level to combat spam. Can you try an alternate port?

doesn't it have to be the port the hotmail server uses?

Ya it does. But it’s not uncommon that email providers have alternates you can use if the standard ports don’t work for some reason

Last couple of months, it seems like 6+ months ago they forced some changes on me, I don't recall the details other than I had to delete my account from Office Outlook and recreate it, then things worked again. I had received several emails stating this change was coming, I ignored it until I could no longer access email. The web based access was untouched. I don't use my msn nor hotmail accounts for FreeNAS, I use my physical ISP provided email account.
