Good luck. Virtualized NAS is not as simple as just throwing an appliance into VMware. If you want a good NAS it should have direct hardware access, otherwise you should just use ANY OS and create your shares...

This is not a FreeNAS question any longer. If you want to know about other products do your own damn homework.
