At some point, I had an issue with Apple Time Machine and my AFP share, so I decided do delete everything and restart. When trying to delete all of the contents of the dataset, I find that it claims the ".AppleDB" directory in the root of the dataset is not empty. When looking in the directory, I see strange results from ls that imply there is and there isn't a file, unlike anything I've run across. I've even mounted the volume/dataset in single user mode and got similar results. What is going on? Why can't I delete this folder? Below is a copy of the terminal sessions showing my results.
