Can't find FreeBSD Drivers for HP NC550SFP 10Gb NIC

I'm running FreeNAS 11.2 and need to find drivers for the HP Emulex NC550SFP NIC. Everytime I put it into the server, FreeNAS crashes durng boot and reboots instantly, so fast I can't even read the error on the console.

Does anyone know how to get drivers for this card?

You can't add drivers to FreeNAS. If you need this card to work, you would need to submit a feature request.

No disrespect Chris, but I have a hard time believing that I can’t install a driver into FreeBSB. There are lots of people who say the NC550SFP works with their instance of FreeBSD and FreeNAS.

FreeNAS is an appliance that is built on FreeBSD. If you dig deep enough into the internals, there may be a way to force a driver into it, but there are certain things that have been done intentionally in an effort to prevent changes from outside the GUI.

Not that I know anything, but I did find this year old thread on reddit that said it just worked.

I trust FreeNAS gurus more, so you need to consider the source.

And google only returned a few links with the search: freeBSD Driver for HP NC550SFP (About 1,910 results), which is usually an indication that you are looking for a unicorn.

I got it working with 11.1 but it was very unstable
Is there an easy way to get persintant loggin to see where it crashes during startup?

Did you open a ticket on: https://redmine.ixsystems.com/projects/freenas/ ?
If there is a driver available, they may be perfectly happy to roll it into the next release.
