cant even install freenas on a disk

hi all,

i get this error, when i boot from cd, i let it load and it asks me what disk i want freenas to be installed i choose a HD i want it on and then it runs a cmd prompt and it gets stuck on this and restarts as its retried so many time -

(ada0:ata2:0)retrying command
(ada0:ata2:0)read_dma48. acb: 25 00 6f
(ada0:ata2:0)cam status: command timeout

can anyone please tell me why i cant install it on this pc?

For one, don't install on a disk. For two, make sure your hardware specs match these: http://doc.freenas.org/index.php/Hardware_Recommendations.

you were right, i forgot freenas only installs on flash cards
