cannot login: no space left on device

Hi all,
after a few days since the last boot my FreeNAS 8.3 start working oddly: some shares were not responding. So I got to the web interface, tried to log in and got an error as follows:

Code:

[Errno 28] No space left on device /tmp/sessionid************x

from python file file.py on line 90.

The nas is using an USB stick to boot, and the USB is a 4GB key, so I don't believe that it should have eated all space, at least I don't understand what made it.
Any suggestion?

Rebooting the nas has apparently solved the problem, but can anybody explain me how to discover what really happened and avoid it happening again?

Just to add that I had the same problem last week, and a re-boot also solved it for me.
