I am burning in a number of HDDs, using the information contained in this thread:
https://forums.freenas.org/index.php?threads/how-to-hard-drive-burn-in-testing.21451/
And I am getting the following message from badblocks:
'Inappropriate ioctl for device',
but the test seems to be working.
Here's the console output:
sysctl kern.geom.debugflags=0x10
Response:
kern.geom.debugflags: 0 -> 16
badblocks -b4096 -c 64 -wsv /dev/da6
Checking for bad blocks in read-write mode
From block 0 to 1465130645
Testing with pattern 0xaa: set_o_direct: Inappropriate ioctl for device
Thanks in advance for any input/comments/suggestions.
