Hi everyone,

Its my first build for FreeNAS and I hit a little bump. With a lot of great advice from people here on the forums and all the guides and videos, I built a box:
Supermicro 4u case
Supermicro X8DTN+ board
2x intel 5620 xeons
32gb registered DDR3
6x5tb WD Red's (yay for the B&H deal on slickdeals!!)

Everything is set up and I followed raymod2's guide (https://forums.freenas.org/index.php?threads/cifs-windows-sharing-guide.20948/) to setting up the sharing with just guest accounts. The laptops in the house, on wifi, can see FREENAS pop up right away under network. But the desktop that is connected to my wifi router won't see it. And if I try mapping the drive with the IP address, it won't connect. But if I put the IP address in explorer or chrome, it takes me straight to the FreeNAS GUI. Any ideas on what I might be missing???

Thanks for any help you can lend!!

Try mapping it with the IP address and sharename. For example, from a command prompt, type: net use p: \\ipaddy\sharename
