Hi all - I have seen a lot of very helpful people in searching for an answer to the following issue. I would like to thank everyone for a positive first impression and hope that someone has an answer for me. I was unable to locate this issue in any previous post - but I may have missed it. I am an old hat at Windows trying to learn something new and thank you for your help and understanding. So...
I have an existing system running Kubuntu 13.10 that I am (loosely) using as a "server". Data is stored on 2 x 2TB HDD's in 4x EXT4 partitions.
I have FreeNAS 9.1.1 x64 installed on another machine with an 80GB drive for the OS - and a single 1TB drive for data. (Just a testing setup - eventually will setup some type of redundancy with 5 x 2TB drives) the rest of the system:
Gigabyte MB with AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 B45 Processor
8GB DDR2 Ram
Using onboard video - everything else disabled.
I want to put the 2 HDD's from the Kubuntu box into the FreeNAS box - but I DON'T want to loose the data. Is this possible? And if possible what is the best way to go about it?
