Also, tried the RAM out of my old machine (also x9scm-f w/ e3-1230 v1) and got the same resulting beep code (5 short, 1 long).

Yeah, RAM works in both machines.

Took off processor, cleaned with isopropyl alcohol, reseated. Works.
