Hi all,

I run FreeNAS-8.3.1-RELEASE-x64 (r13452) for a while with 2 ZFS Volumes.
One of them is giving error lately but I'm not realy into all the command stuff of Freenas.
The error is attached as screenshot 1

I already bought a new simular disk for replacement. The sata connector is somehow broken. Bought it in another machine.

The second screenshot might give more needed info.

Could somebody tell me exactly what to do or send me to a good guide so I cxan replace the disk without losing all my data.
The disk is 1 TB of size and filled for about 15% with important data.

Many thnx!

The manual... 6.3.11 :D

I just did a disk replacement with encryption on my zpool. Things didn't go quite as planned. See https://support.freenas.org/ticket/2178

My advice is to be cautious, make sure you have your recovery key and key+pass ready, and preferably do a backup of your data before you do this. I'm still waiting for a response on my ticket...not sure what I could have done wrong, I followed the manual to the T.

Thnx for the reply!

I was easier then I expected.
Followed this guide and it all turned out ok for me in about 30 minutes of work
http://doc.freenas.org/index.php/Volumes#Replacing_a_Failed_Drive_or_Zil_Device

Before I started, I copied all data to second ZFS Volume as backup but I did not needed it :)
The error was there for 2 weeks now and I was a little scared to start fixing it. If I knew it was this easy I fixed it much sooner :)

I love FreeNas!!! :D:D
