Hello,
I have been guilty of not doing exactly enough research before created my FreeNAS box. Now that I have skimmed through the newb guide, I realize that RAIDZ1 was not a great idea, even if just for a home server setup.
So.. I realize I cannot just switch to RAIDZ2. I have enough space on 2 separate USB drives to store all of my data from the NAS, until I can add one more drive and create a RAIDZ2 array. Is it possible to store all my data (without losing permissions) from my NAS onto my 2 external USB drives, then restore the data to a new zfs filesystem once I add another HDD?
Thanks!
