Hi All,

Complete Noob here so please speak to me like a 3 year old!

I've got my first FreeNAS system up and running. Got my CIFS & FTP running and super happy with myself.

I'm hoping to get the system to run a scheduled download from a remote ftp site. I only have download access to the ftp site so cannot run any config on it. I want my system to simply copy its contents once a day on to my freeNAS.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Security isn't a big issue either so FTP should be fine.

Thanks.

Using a custom script and a cronjob this should be super easy to implement. My guess is a couple hours of googling will give you the education to write the script to work for your exact situation. Big picture, being a script wiz is very very useful for FreeBSD/FreeNAS.
