Hello everyone,
After having my hardware sitting idle for nearly 4 (!) years, I finally bought 2 x 10TB HDDs to store and share in my home network all of my family's documents along with a lot of media (movies mostly).
I have bought a Gen 7 4-bay HP microserver, changed the firmware to allow 6 HDDs (even though i couldn't even afford 2, ahem), installed a separate Intel Nic, upgraded the PSU fan, replaced the 3xUSB SanDisk Ultra Fit boot drives with an SSD when one of the USB failed, installed FreeNAS, performed an extensive 7 days burn-in test on the HDDs, configured email notifications, scrub and SMART schedules and here i am now, having no idea on how to create Shares for 3 different users. There's a big learning curve so far, and i hope i'll figure it out :D
