aprobe errors, but not sure on what device

Hello,

I just added 3 drives to my Supermicro x7DBN/SC926TQ-R800LPB server (9 drives were already present). At first only one of the drives was recognized. I powered off the server and reseated the SATA cables between the chassis and the AOC-SA2-MV8 card (which these slots connect to) and powered it back on. All drives were then recognized OK, and everything is working OK.

However, I noticed some aprobe errors in dmesg when it booted, and I'm not sure what device they are referring to. I'm booting from a Sandisk Cruzer USB drive.

This is just a complete guess but how about the drive your FreeNAS is booting from.

I'm thinking ada2 matches up to mvsch2:0:0:0, mvs being the driver for the Marvell based AOC-SA2-MV8 card:
  1. ada2 at mvsch2 bus 0 scbus2 target 0 lun 0
  2. ada2: <ST3000DM001-1CH166 CC29> ATA-9 SATA 3.x device
  3. ada2: Serial Number W1F509KF

  8. ada2: Previously was known as ad8
ada2 just passed a 'smartctl -t short /dev/ada2', I'm running a long SMART test now. Is this reason to think this ST3000DM001-1CH166 CC29 drive is bad?
