APC Serial UPS and FreeNAS 9.10-STABLE

Guys, I am trying to configure my APC Smart UPS 1400 to work with my FreeNAS Server. I built it using ASRock Rack C2750D4I motherboard. I have attempted to follow the guides to setup this and have searched unfruitfully for info on how to accomplish this. Any help would be greatly appriciated. Currently the service shows the following connections.
/dev/cuau0
/dev/cuau0
/dev/cuau2
/dev/ugen0.1
/dev/ugen0.2
/dev/ugen0.3
/dev/ugen0.4

I have selected the apc smart driver with no further config.

/dev/cuau0 is the motherboard serial port. A lot of APC units use custom serial cables, so make sure the one being used is the one that was included with the UPS.

I don't have your exact model but everything still should be applicable.
