AFP recursive permissions

I have a setup that shares between a few macs, each user has their own login. Whenever a user adds a folder only that user can access it until i go in and check set permissions recursively for that data set. Ive tried messing with permissions but cant seem to get it to not always lock the folder. Also the user that setup the folder cannot change the permissions locally from their machine. I think this has been answered before on here so sorry for the duplicate post but the forums seemed to have changed some and the search results dont seem to work.

I screwed with a bunch of setting but I found one thing that seemed to work better it was to stop all sharing services reboot and set appropriate permissions them start the sharing services.

It might be worth searching bugs.freenas.org to see if this issue has already been reported and to create a new issue if it has not.
