Files arrive with different permissions then defined in VDEV or Share... (AFP)

So I have the permissions of the dataset and the share set to 770 (drwxrwx---) for a single user.

Yet whenever I write a file to the share it arrives as drwxrwx---

I'm using AFP to connect. Any idea what the issue could be or how to remedy it? My transfers also keep stopping halfway because of permission issues yet I'm logged in as that user...

I can manually chmod -r the folders or use the "recursive permissions" setting on the vdev option box but nothing seems to help.

Every time I copy things over it arrives with different permissions.

Haven't figured much out.

It would stop at a random file and ask for authentication, after giving username and password it would just stop.

I solved it by hitting the "recursive permissions" checkbox on the VDEV multiple times during a copy...

Not the most elegant way to do thing.
