I upgraded from 9.2.0 to 9.2.1. Everything went smooth, except now my apple shares are getting a 'Connection Failed when trying to connect from OS X 10.9.

Here is what in the log file from FreeNAS:

I have the same fault with 9.2.1-release. I think it's something to do with the new mDNSResponder. If I restart mDNSResponder and flush the DNS cache on my Mac then I can connect (I did try re-installing a Mac to see if it was that, but no, even after re-install, same result). I had to roll back to 9.2-release because of this issue. It might be worth opening a bug, but unfortunately I've not had the time to open one. One thing to note is that not every Mac user is affected. Some Mac users have actually said it's fixed things for them, so it's not entirely consistent. The avahi-daemon for Zeroconf defiantly works better for me than the new mDNSResponder Zeroconf.

After a couple hours, the SMB shares also stopped working. At that point i started looking into that problem. I came to the conclusion that 9.2.1 was to problematic to try and correct. I rolled back to 9.2.0 and everything started working again. I'll wait for the next release.

I'll wait for 9.2.2.

Just an FYI, It seems that 9.2.1.2 works better. Also, there was an update from Apple for OS X 10.9, which I believe also assisted. One question for you, do you have the Plex plug-in installed? I have a feeling it may be interfering with mDNS.

That's good to hear and i do not have the plex plugin installed. The only plugin i have installed is the Minidlna.

I have the same issue with 9.3.1... gonna install 9.2.1.2 and hopefully it'll be fine.

Using 10.11 on Hackintosh and MBP 2015

I have the same issue with one of my servers but not the other. Very strange. :-(
