Hello guys, facing some trouble here with my 1st FreeNAS build. When transferring a 7GB file either through CIFS or FTP I'm getting 11.4MB/s which is awfully slow. I am guessing the switch is the culprit? Can anyone confirm this?

My setup:
Fractal Design Define XL R2
AsRock C2550D4I
2x Crucial 8GB DDR3 ECC UDIMM (CT102472BD160B)
6x WD 6TB HDDs
IPMI control - No monitor/mouse/keyboard
IPMI and LAN connected to TP-Link TL-SD1008D switch, switch connected to Fritz!Box 7360 router

dd if=/dev/zero of=/mnt/Pool1/Pool1/ddfile bs=1024k count=20000
20000+0 records in
20000+0 records out
20971520000 bytes transferred in 16.753422 secs (1251775307 bytes/sec)

11.4 MB/s sounds like something somewhere in the network is 100 Mb/s.

Yes, its either switch og cable that is the error. Or maybe the NIC you Are only running with a 100Mb/s line instead of 1Gb/s.
Try to make a direct connection to the FreeNAS from a client. Then start expanding the network with switch and extra cabling. Work your way through it.

What kind of NIC is in the client machine that you are FTPing with?

The client NIC is 1000Mbps rated. The problem is the switch. It is rated at 100Mbps max. I am going to replace that. Thank you all for your help!
