Fresh install on a Supermicro X9SCL (Xeon E3-1270) that was previously used as a windows server.
Installing from DVD to SSD + 4 x 1TB WD (tried with and wo WD drives) 16G Ram
Installer fails to boot.
I'm unfamiliar with FreeBSD.
I simply can't go through the 175 posts w/ 8 pages each about copying USB sticks. I've wasted a day reading these things. I stay away from FreeBSD for just this reason, and I have avoided it for nearly a decade. This sounded like a good reason to try again, and nothing has changed.
I've tried all of the BIOS settings that I could find in these posts, the error never changes.
Over and over, no mountroot prompt.
Linux and ISOLinux works just fine from that CD and SSD combo.
Am I giving up on FreeBSD for another decade?
Thanks!!!
