I want to understand what happen to the filesystem under iscsi. I'm not sure I understand what happen to the ZFS pool when I connect iscsi from linux, Debian with open-iscsi in my case.
I have a zfs raid10 with a zvol for iscsi. When I connect it to my box under debian I need to reformat the zvol from debian with ext4 or zfs. But I know with iscsi the guest will manage the filesystem. So if I format in ext4 do I lost the features of the ZFS under it?? If I format the lun with ZFS my guest will need more ram and maybe SSDs to have good performance with ZFS or not ?? or maybe I'm complely wrong and I understand nothing...
