Hi guys,
I currently have a raid10 ZFS array (all disks are GUID, not MBR) using macZFS on a custom built machine running Mac OS X lion.
Samba sharing is horrendeous as Lion won't let you share stuff that are not in Apple's filesystem HFS+.
So I'm seriously considering switching to FreeNas.
Now, my question is:
It is to my knowledge that ZFS is portable, so zpools can be used by other operating systems.
Will that be the case with FreeNas or will I have to backup my whole zpool and reformat the drives?
MacZFS uses Zpool version 8 if that helps.
