I am having trouble getting windows 7 professional to be able to write to an NFS share. I have read access, and my linux system can mount the share for rw successfully. to make the share as simple as possible - while not secure - i set the username and groups to nobody. Once I get rw access to both OSes, I will start securing the share.

my NFS share MapallUser and MapallGroup are set to nobody

my CIFS share: apply default permissions is checked, browsable is checked.

aio_pthread and streams_xattr are selected

When mounting the NFS share you'll have to add the nofilelock (or something like that) to get write access. That is, assuming your permissions aren't borked or something.

It turns out that NFS is not supported in Windows 7 Professional. So not my question is to NFS using Samba or not NFS. What say you?
