I am looking to build a FreeNAS machince for home use. We will be using it for backing up PCs & Macs and media storage for streaming media. I will be using an tower case with a 400W PSU (currently a P4) and room for 5 drives. I will probably start with 3 2-TB drives and plan on adding another 2 drives later when I need the room.

Today at I found a Gigabyte GA-880GM-UD2H motherboard for $43 and I was wondering if that would work and if so any recommendations on a CPU for it.

Here are the relevant specs:

CPU: Support for AM3 processors: AMD Phenom™ II processor/ AMD Athlon™ II processor
Chipset: North Bridge: AMD 880G South Bridge: AMD SB710
Memory: 4 DDR3 1800 (16 GB max)
LAN: Realtek 8111D chip
Expansion Slots
1 x PCI Express x16 slot (PCIEX16)
1 x PCI Express x1 slot
2 x PCI slots
Storage Interface South Bridge:
5 x SATA 3Gb/s
1 x eSATA 3Gb/s
Form Factor: Micro ATX Form Factor

Thanks!

Jeff
